Investors in People (IIP)
IIP is a recognised award given only to those companies which offer first class conditions of employment combined with excellent training programmes - aimed at achieving a high standard of employee 'empowerment'. Should you decide to join us, you will be pleased to know that all Lindum divisions are IIP accredited.
Training
Training is seen as an integral part of our ethos. Our employees are provided with a variety of statutory and (personal) development training, ranging from seminars and residential courses to nationally recognised qualifications such as NVQ's and even Degree courses. We regularly invite sixth formers to join us for training seminars (if we think these may be of interest) when we have spare places on any of our in-house seminars.
National 'Skills Pledge'
Lindum Group has just signed up to the Learning and Skills Council's National 'Skills Pledge'.
The Skills Pledge is a public commitment made by Lindum Group that we will support all of our employees to develop their skills and work towards valuable qualifications which will make a full contribution to the success of Lindum Group.
The Skills Pledge is Lindum Group's opportunity to demonstrate that we really do invest in developing the skills of our own employees to support the needs of Lindum Group and ensure their future employability.
The Skills Pledge reinforces Lindum's ethos that the 'Difference is our People'.
Sponsorship - Bursaries
We provide sponsorships and bursaries for the right candidates embarking on relevant degree courses.
Apprenticeships
We manage our Vocational Apprenticeships (bricklaying, joinery, plastering and motor mechanics) in conjunction with the ConstructionSkills and Lincoln College. Over a 2 year period, our Apprentices work towards achieving an NVQ Level 2 qualification on a block release basis. Upon successful completion of this qualification, our Apprentices are encouraged to develop their skills further and progress onto a NVQ Level 3, which involves learning about supervisory and managerial issues. We operate the largest and most comprehensive Apprenticeship programme for construction in Lincolnshire - and we have been leading the way on the Lincolnshire Apprenticeship Pilot Scheme.
Work Placements
We provide work experience opportunities to students from local schools 52 weeks of the year. Students who excel during their work experience placements are invited back to work for us during the school holidays and are offered Apprenticeships or training places - we may even sponsor their (appropriate) degree course when they go to University.
