Project Details

The Lindum Group has successfully completed the design and construction of the £3.5 million Olympic House Office Development on the outskirts of Lincoln for the Queens House JV Partnership. The project was completed on time and provides prestigious offices for Langleys Solicitors, Savills, Hill Osbourne & Siemens.

Lindum has considerable previous experience in the design and construction of offices, catering and conference facilities, medical centres, education establishments. The Olympic House project gave us the opportunity to combine this experience to produce an attractive and functional building on a site previously used for light industrial purposes. The use of our in-house development, architectural, cladding, plant and waste disposal divisions proved a great help to the construction team in the successful completion of this exciting project.

The client opted to commence the shell works prior to finalising the internal floor layouts and finishes. The project team then developed the interior space concepts, produced cost options and alternatives to enable the client to make informed decisions. Lindum ís flexible approach allowed the client to incorporate changes late in the build programme, which ultimately produced a greatly enhanced building within budget.

The building is finished to an extremely high standard and particular features include the main entrance, internal atrium glazed circulation space with stainless steel and glass treads is the steel and glass main staircase which makes an immediate impression when one enters the building. The building is enveloped in highly reflective glass eliminating the need for additional solar shading. Externally there is parking for 120 cars, cycle shelter and a 6 metre illuminated and electronic totem information sign.

The project is a testimony of what can be achieved when the developer and contractor work as a team to incorporate significant late changes into a project but still deliver a high quality building on time and within budget.
