Project Details
A traditionally tendered project initially based on fairly general information and split into 5 sections, which included:-
- Riverside Warehouse - a piled portal framed extension to an existing warehouse, complete with line boundary conditions, part brick and part built up cladded walls.
- Phoenix Building - refurbishment of a 50 year old 100,000 square foot concrete barrel structure, inclusive of demolition, new walls, block and foodsafe panels, liquid membrane roofing systems, new floors and drains, resin floor finishes maintaining production within during the works.
- Bisto Area - refurbishment of existing 4000 square foot facility within an existing production area.
- New sprinkler system for all buildings under alteration or refurbishment, including 1127m³ supply tank.
- Various external works including 7 new 20m high production silos.
The project timescales were very tight, driven by the client’s business requirements to close a number of other factories and relocating the production processes into one purpose built facility which would manufacture Bisto, Paxo and Oxo, amongst other products.
The tender process allowed the selection of Lindum Construction as the preferred contractor and for the Lindum team to join the client and design team to provide input into the design and procurement processes thus ensuring buildability was considered and the most appropriate subcontractors and specialists selected.
