Project Details
This Grade II heritage project, carried out by Lindum BMS, included the demolition of the Coin Room, partial demolition of the Curtois Building and demolition of existing administration bungalow. The partial demolition of the Curtois Building was to enable a viewing gallery to be built from the existing foundations and structure.
Also, the construction of a new extension which includes piled foundations, reinforced concrete floor slab, curtain walling & glazing to form the main entrance to the Gallery. Some works internally within the existing building, including the excavation of a lift pit and construction of new lift shaft and lift installation.
External works, including the building of an access ramp and steps to the reception.
The Usher Art Gallery is a Grade II* listed building.
