Gnomes = Knowledge
The Gnome story started many years ago. In one fair garden, surrounded by much laughter and fun, the first gnome appeared. Many gnomes came to play and offer their wisdom, to such an extent that the family now stands at over 75.
Each gnome has a story to tell. Each gnome has a history all by itself. The important thing for Lindum is these gnomes are now part of our history and if you really would like to know more, please ask one of our staff or keep an eye out for wisdom flashes on our website in the future!

'The Gnome Before Christmas'

It was the week before Christmas, a Gnome family
Had found themselves homeless with nowhere to be.
‘Oh what are we to do?’ The young mother cried,
As she stared at her baby and dried both his eyes.
‘Don’t worry my darling,’ the boy Gnome thought hard,
‘I know of a place with garden and yard,
I saw it not long ago on the TV
It welcomes all Gnomes not just you and me.’
So they packed what they had and travelled the land,
‘Til they came to a gate, it was green, it was grand.
‘Ahoy young travellers’ boomed a Dragon within
‘Have you been out long? My goodness you’re thin!’
He flew over the gate, a kind smile on his face.
‘We have lots of Gnomes here, you’ll just love the place.’
He pushed open the gate to the realm inside
The young family could hardly believe their eyes.
Gnomes of all race, colour, creed and size,
Were laughing and playing with joyous cries.
The young mother looked at her husband with glee
‘You were right, what a marvellous place to be.’
Snow White and the Dragon led them straight in,
The other Gnomes waved and beamed them a grin.
A place was found for them, ‘This spot should do,
This tree arrived last week, just like you.’
The young Mum put her babe down under the tree
Excited, the other Gnomes all came to see.
Snow White and her animals all came for a peek
At the brand new arrivals and the babe fast asleep
The young gnome put his arms around his lovely young wife
‘Would you ever believe such a place in your life,
We thought we were lost, but we sure found our mark
God Bless all the creatures in Jubilee Park’.
