Stickney gets a New Medical Centre [edit]

Last week saw the official handover to Dr Rhys-Davies and partners of the brand new medical centre in Stickney, from local construction firm, Lindum Construction.

Stickney Medical Centre is a huge improvement on previous facilities and will provide local people with a centre with comfortable surroundings to ensure a more pleasant visit to their doctor.

Lindum Construction has worked closely with the Doctors, Practice Manager Christine Morgan, the developer M F Strawson Ltd and the client’s professional team from Parkin Gerry Surveyors & Banks Long & Co, to build the centre to specific design requirements and provide patients with a one-stop facility.

Alastair Plant of Parkin Gerry Surveyors commented, “We have been pleased to look after the Doctors interests on yet another new local medical centre. We are delighted with the finished product which has been achieved through an excellent team effort.”

Lindum’s Contract Manager, Mick Harrison, said: “This has been an exciting project to work on.  It’s great to see all the staff, doctors and patients at the ceremony and hear first hand how pleased everyone is with the new centre.”

Practice Manager, Christine Morgan is overjoyed with the new medical centre, she said: “Dr’s and staff are delighted to be working in a modern and up to date centre.  The local people have waited a long time for these improvements and now when they visit their doctor they can do so in comfortable and pleasant surroundings.”

Michael Sarjeant, Chairman of the Patient Support Group attended the ceremony and is thrilled with the new medical centre.  He said: “Stickney has been in need of a new medical centre for some time, especially with facilities for our patients with specific access needs, such as wheelchairs and pushchairs.  This new centre has enabled easy access for everyone”.
Victoria Ayling, District Councillor said: “It’s just brilliant.  With such wonderful facilities it will provide a comfortable place with the specialist care our local people need.”
